Like All Great Stories, Mine Must Have A Beginning

Once upon a time in a land not so far away, a linguistics major misplaced her passion for writing. She knew it existed, she regularly played with that passion previously, but somewhere along the line between school, competitions, and her social life, writing had disappeared.

The linguist looked near and far, tried everything she could to bring writing back to her life. She attempted online courses, editing old works, and reading every book she could get her hands on to no avail. Every time she tried to write it only felt like a chore.

As the years passed by, she funneled any writing energy she had into her school work. Assignments, research papers, speeches and more. Everyday she wrote, still deeply regretting the loss of her passion.

Then, the long awaited graduation day came. The linguist was very excited, maybe now her passion will return to her. She was quick to realize it would take much more than that.

It’s been a few months now and the passion hadn’t returned. Until one fated morning mid-Coronavirus quarantine, the writing bug had decided to peek its little head at the linguist’s door. “Welcome back,” the linguist said, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
